In the News, Summer 2018: Evidence of Link Between Maternal DDT Exposure and Autism

A study involving over a million pregnant women enrolled in the Finnish Maternity Cohort has found the first biomarker evidence linking women’s DDT exposure to autism in their children. Researchers identified 778 cases of autism in children born to these women from 1987 to 2005, and matched those mother-child pairs with control pairs in which the offspring did not have autism.
