I love breakfast any time of day, and this nutrient-powerhouse recipe satisfies my cravings for flavor, ease of preparation, and thriftiness. We shared this recipe during World Breastfeeding Week to support mothers and others:

For all of human history, breast milk has been a fundamental food for growing children, providing immune-boosting nutrients as well as perfectly meeting infant nutritional needs. On Indigenous Peoples Day, we shared this Pozole recipe from our friend, Dr. Bill Schindler:
Before maize made its entrance onto the European stage, this sacred plant was cultivated by ancient Mesoamerican cultures and features prominently in pozole, a dish which played a central role in celebrating their special occasions. I can’t help but share this raw ice cream recipe one more time before summer is over. This dessert will satisfy your palate and your nutrition needs! It’s easy to make, it’s made with nutrient-packed kefir, and it’s a great recipe to beat the summer heat:
Although the origins of frozen treats like ice cream remain a mystery, some accounts describe ice-cream-like foods originating in Persia as long ago as 550 BC. Over time, ice cream recipes began to crop up across Europe (although, before the mid 19th century, this treat was mainly savored by the affluent). The nutritional powerhouse portion of this recipe, kefir, also has ancient roots and originally hails from Eastern Europe.
