I know this seems like such a basic question but I have to ask. What exactly is grassfed? And, what are the advantages of grassfed products? Everyone is telling me they can taste the difference too!
Unfortunately, in 2016, the USDA stopped defining “what is grassfed” and that certainly doesn’t help consumers. So, we need to ask our local farmers ourselves. Grassfed was previously defined as animals which are allowed to forage and graze for their own fresh food. So, other than their mother’s milk, the animal must have eaten only fresh grass or hay. But, these days it’s our responsibility to ask questions. I want to recommend a fantastic interview/article by Jo Robinson with more information that I think will help answer your question more thoroughly: Why Grassfed Is The Obvious Choice: An Interview With Jo Robinson.
