Paleo Wraps
Price-Pottenger was told about the amazing Paleo Wraps ™ made by Julian Bakery. These delicious, light wraps are made from only two ingredients-coconut meat and coconut water from organic coconuts. Since these wraps are gluten-free, grain free, sugar free and dairy free, they are easily tolerated by most people. We put them to good use by filling them with local, seasonal, organic ingredients. Check out the recipes below and enjoy!
Carrot-Hummus Wrap (makes 1 wrap)
- 1 Paleo Wrap from Julian Bakery (these look and feel like thick spring roll wraps)
- 1-2 tablespoons organic, traditional-flavored hummus (make sure it does not contain canola oil!)
- 1 slice red, organic, heirloom tomato
- 1/4 cup organic, shredded carrot
- Few slices of organic cucumber
- Pinch of fresh, organic cilantro
- ¼” thick slice of raw, organic cheddar cheese (grassfed)
- 2 teaspoons organic, cold-pressed avocado oil
- Organic rice wine vinegar
- Organic powdered chili seasoning
Spread the hummus on the wrap. Use as much or as little hummus as you like, but be sure to leave room around the outside edge of the wrap.
Place the sliced tomato in the center of the wrap. Sprinkle with the carrots and cucumber. Top with the slice of cheddar.
Add the cilantro and sprinkle with the avocado oil, vinegar and the powdered chili, to taste. Roll the wrap according to your preference.
Variations: Try beets and cucumber or beets only.
Beet and Jalapeno Hummus Wrap
Swap out traditional hummus for organic cilantro-jalapeno hummus and swap out the cucumber for raw, shredded beets. Add Bragg’s aminos, white pepper and squeeze of lime juice, to taste.
If you’re in the mood for protein, try this wrap:
Salmon-Cheddar Wrap
- 1 Paleo Wrap from Julian Bakery
- ¼” thick slice of raw, organic cheddar cheese (grassfed)
- 6 oz. warm, cooked salmon, Alaskan wild-caught
- Organic seasonings such as basil, oregano, lemon pepper and garlic
- Dash of sea salt, Himalayan salt or Redmond Real Salt
- Organic sliced olives
- One organic, kale leaf
Top the Paleo wrap with the slice of cheese and the salmon. The cheese will melt slightly. Season to taste with all of the above seasonings. Salt to taste and add the sliced olives. Top with the kale leaf and roll into a wrap.
