Traces of Corn Found in Fast Food

A study of over 480 fast food items by researchers led by Professor A. Hope Jahren of the University of Hawaii found corn to be present in all but 12 of those items. The items were bought from three different fast food chain outlets at six cities across the United States, and lab tested for their biochemical makeup. It was found that most of the cows used for hamburgers and chicken sandwiches had been raised exclusively on corn-based diets. Of the vegetable oils used for French fries, corn oil was used in one of the restaurants studied.
