Sweeping Changes Proposed to Canada’s Food and Drugs Act
The Canadian Minister of Health has introduced a bill, called C-51, that proposes major changes to the current regulations. New terminology would change the word “drug” to “therapeutic product” throughout the act, giving the government authority to regulate the sale and use of herbs, vitamins, and supplements. The bill would also change the definition of “sell” to include “give.”
