Seaweed And the Garden
Seaweed seems to have "magic qualities," but the magic is really just basic plant physiology. The minerals in seaweed include almost all of those known in the earth's surface. It is the trace minerals in seaweed which do so much good for plants. They are important because enzymes cannot be formed without them. Another effect of seaweed, in the liquid form, is to increase the roots' absorption of soil nutrients. Vitamins are another benefit gained from dried, granular, or fresh seaweed. Another great value of seaweed is the way it helps resistance to pests and disease. Fungus diseases readily succumb to the effects of seaweed.
