Since sugar is such a harmful food, it is natural for one to wonder why so little is said about this subject. The answer is perhaps, that the sugar industry is exceptionally wealthy and powerful, and controls much of the research done with regard to sugar. Although much valuable research has been accomplished, nothing is ever found wrong with sugar. A natural, wholesome diet eliminates all refined or processed sugar and all commercial foods that contain sugar. Even fruits, which are wholesome foods, should be eaten in moderation. The body can be overloaded with natural sugar. What are artificial sweeteners? -- chemicals, synthetic substances fabricated in a laboratory, having no nutritive value, no calories, and which are actually drugs. There are a number of reasons why artificial sweeteners should not be used. Many of the food dyes used fall in the same category with the synthetic sweeteners in being highly suspected as playing a part in causing cancer. The best way to curtail the use of sweets is just to stop eating them and eat fruits and natural sweets in moderation.
