Longevity
In many traditional cultures, age is synonymous with wisdom and experience; elders are revered and cared for. In the U.S., there is a negative, rejecting attitude. Growing old is literally treated like the plague. Aging is equivalent to an illness to be prevented or treated with drugs and surgery. People do not want to die and they want to look and feel young until they do die. Is living to the age of 100 a realistic goal? Does heredity determine life span? Can length and quality of life be influenced by lifestyle, environment, less stress, and positive attitudes? It
