A Paleolithic Diet
My daughter said that I was eating just like a bear: Berries, raw fish and field herbs. And it dawned on me that she was 100% right. Bears used to live in complete harmony with their environments. They ate the foods that were available locally and seasonally, raw. A human could do the same, and I was that human! This is what a Paleolithic human eats in a mild temperate climate. In the East End of Long Island. I spend about a third of my life living within sight of my food, green-treed fields with berry brambles and the ever-changing surface of the Peconic Bay.
