Abrams’ Law of Nutrition: An Anthropological Perspective
As an anthropologist who has devoted more than a quarter of a century to the study of nutritional anthropology, my comparative research of cultures over the world has resulted in formulation of the following law: A perfectly healthy diet may not always insure good health, but an unhealthy diet will always result in poor health. Abrams' law is actually no more than stating the obvious and good common horse sense based upon empirical data. To a large degree, one's state of health bears a direct relationship to what one eats and drinks. Everything taken into the body has an effect, either good or harmful, which lends credence to the ancient adage, "you are what you eat."
