KNIGHT
- PHILIP KNIGHT came from Chelmsford, co. Essex, England, and was living in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1637. A house lot and land was granted to him there for keeping the ferry in 1651. He moved to Topsfield and died there in November of 1668. His wife’s name was Margery, but her maiden name is not known. Two brothers of Philip also came to America: Alexander, a mariner, and Robert, a merchant. Philip was a cooper.
- PHILIP KNIGHT II was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts, in 1641. He married Margaret Wilkins, baptized in Dorchester 10 March 1648, daughter of Bray Wilkins, who was born in Wales in 1611. Philip II died in Middleton, Massachusetts, sometime between 1722 and 1725.
- BENJAMIN KNIGHT was born in Topsfield, Massachusetts, and was baptized there 21 August 1692. He married in Salem in January 1719, Ruth Fuller. She died in Middleton 26 April 1771, and he died 31 June of that same year.
- ENOS KNIGHT I was born in Middleton, Massachusetts, 29 December 1729, and married in Middleton 26 June 1750 Lois Gould. He was a cordwainer or shoemaker. They lived in Topsfield, Massachusetts, until 1781, when they moved to New Ipswich, New Hampshire.
- ENOS KNIGHT II was born in Topsfield 30 September 1752. He married Dorcas Nooning, who died 2 January 1815. He was a soldier in the Revolution, serving as private in Capt. Joseph Gould’s company of militia, Col. John Baker’s regiment, which marched in the alarm of 19 April 1775. He was a blacksmith, and made all the nails for his house on Knight’s Hill. He died in Hancock, New Hampshire, 14 June 1824.
- AARON KNIGHT, Deacon, was born in 1781 at New Ipswich, New Hampshire, and married 3 February 1802, Rebecca Adams, daughter of Ephriam and Elizabeth (Stearns) Adams. He died 29 September 1867.
- AARON KNIGHT, JR., was born 11 July 1808, and married 27 November 1835 Melinda Patten, daughter of Wiliam and Abigail (Clark) Patten. They lived in Limerick, Maine, and Hancock, New Hampshire, where he died 22 February 1848.
- DR. GRANVILLE KNIGHT was born in Limerick, Maine, 5 July 1836, and married Adeline Herrick Fay, daughter of Samuel and Louisa (Herrick) Fay. He lived in Springfield, Vermont, moving to Malden, Massachusetts, in 1888.
- FRANK KNIGHT, born 9 December 1877, in Springfield, Vermont, married 17 June 1902, Belle Marion Brown, daughter of Adnal and Fanny (Woolson) Brown.
