Bruising

People who bruise easily for very little reason are suffering what is called capillary fragility. This means the smallest branches of your blood vessels have walls that are so thin or weak they cannot hold the blood within them. Even slight bumps or bruises break these weakened blood vessels allowing blood to escape into the tissues. It is the bleeding under your skin that causes the black and blue appearance.
Vitamin C, bioflavanoids, Vitamin A and calcium are all involved and supplements of these are helpful. Simple office testing procedures for Vitamin C and capillary fragility levels are performed by many dentists because of the relationship of these things to gum diseases. Fifty percent of women have this problem.
If you don’t want to be continually fearful of every little knock or bang and its telltale lividness, cut out the junk foods and see that your diet includes two raw salads and one or two pieces of fresh raw fruit daily. This will in time toughen up those capillaries. Your blood should really stay inside those blood vessels!
