Why Fat Is Good for You
Fat is an essential nutrient just as much as protein, vitamin C, or calcium. We need fat in our diet to maintain proper health. Without fat in our diet we would all sicken and die from nutrient deficiency. Fat has many important functions in the body. I do not mention all of them, just enough to show you how important they are in the diet. Fat is one of the three energy-producing nutrients. The other two are protein and carbohydrate. Our bodies use fat as a source of energy to power metabolic processes and maintain life.
