The Lesson of Price’s Disappointment: Should We be Strict Vegetarians?
Weston A. Price, D.D.S. in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, on page 109, says he hoped to find natives living entirely on land foods. One of the purposes of the expedition to the South Seas, was to find plants or fruits which without the use of animal products, "were capable of providing all of the requirements of the body for growth and for maintenance of good health and a high state of physical efficiency." He went inland toward the hill tribes of the Island of V'iti Levu in the Fiji Islands, who were far from the sea and would make it necessary to live entirely on land foods. Then came his disappointment.
