Studies Show Benefits of Organic Crops
Three European studies this year have reported higher nutrients in organic crops, including apples in Poland and peaches in France. The largest project was a four-year European Union-funded study of organic and conventional crops grown next to each other near Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. Researchers found 20 to 40 percent higher levels of antioxidants in organic wheat, potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes and cabbage.
