Garlic fiercely protects us against toxins in the environment, e.g. smog, insecticides, herbicides and fungicides, additives such as fluoride, aluminum, mercury, lead, cadmium, and others. How heavy metals damage our liver and the rest of us and how garlic protects us was illustrated by Benjamin Lau, MD. Dr. Lau filled ten test tubes with human red blood cells, then added lead to two, mercury to two, aluminum to two and copper to two. Then he added aged garlic to one each of the tubes containing the heavy metals. In those with added garlic, the heavy metals seemed tamed and harmless.
