Chard Soup
[From The PPNF Kitchen]
Winter brings us indoors to escape the chilly weather, making soups the perfect comfort food, as well as offering us minerals needed to rebuild the body. The variety is limited only by your imagination, but a good, basic broth is an important starting point.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked chard, preferably steamed
- 3 cups stock: marrow soup, bone soup, plus vegetable broth or soup
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
Blend first three ingredients and heat until soup thickens. Add butter and nutmeg, then serve in mugs topped with a dollop of raw whipped cream and a dash more of nutmeg.
This soup helps to restore the body’s alkaline reserve.
