Climate, topography and water affect your garden. In rainy areas, -year around mulching takes care of watering, but in arid country water must be supplied. Freezing dates, snow and ice are considerations in cold climates. You need to plan for winter protection and adjust planting dates. If you have a lake or stream, there may be fog or morning and evening mists. This may preclude planting things susceptible to mildew. Cold air in a low spot which is also damp may rule out peaches which get curly leaf and are tender.
