Greatest Green Beans
I think I learned this recipe on the back of the turkey bacon I used to buy in chiropractic school. I’m glad I finally upgraded to good quality, local pork bacon!
Ingredients
- 2 cups green beans, chopped
- ½ cup onions, chopped
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 3 strips of bacon
- ¼ cup pecans
- Dash of salt
- Optional: Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a pan to your liking.
- Remove the bacon, but leave the fat. If you need additional fat, add your favorite (I prefer lard or butter).
- Sauté the onions, garlic, and green beans in the bacon fat until they are cooked the way you like them. I prefer mine just a little crispy.
- While the vegetables are cooking, chop the bacon. Add it back to the pan.
- Sprinkle with pecans and sea salt.
- Once you remove from the pan, drizzle with olive oil, if you’d like.
