Chocolate Avocado Mousse
Background info: Ancestrally, avocados and cacao played vital roles for Indigenous Peoples of Mesoamerica as food sources and spiritual symbols prior to their domestication over 5,000 years ago. The Aztecs consumed a cacao drink mixed with psilocybin mushrooms called “cacahua-xochitl,” which translates as “chocolate flowers,” while the Mayans used cacao as currency prior to Spanish conquest. Both avocados and cacao have been found to encourage beneficial gut bacteria and have immunity-boosting, anti-inflammatory properties.
