Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month
Dear Friend,
Thanksgiving inspires and motivates many of us to celebrate the bounty of the harvest. While you gather this year with friends and family, we ask that you also honor the culture, traditions, and achievements of American Indians. National Native American Heritage Month, during November, celebrates our nation’s first inhabitants and reminds us of the displacement and genocide they experienced at the hands of early American colonists. Our mission to build community, advance ancestral nutrition knowledge, and empower healthful living is designed to uplift Native American People and practices.
Please support this vital mission and join our community of donors by giving generously on Giving Tuesday!
In his worldwide expedition, Weston A. Price, DDS, crisscrossed North America studying and admiring the diet, nutrition, and health of the North American Indians still thriving on their traditional foods, while documenting the deterioration of those eating modernized foods. In reference to a 1938 article titled “Tribes ‘Fed Up’ Seek Solitude,” published in the Cleveland Press about an initiative by four tribes to establish new tribal lands apart from white civilization, Price concluded,
“It will be most fortunate if in the interest of science and human betterment such a program as this will be carried out in order to permit these Indians to live in accordance with the accumulated wisdom of their various tribes. Their preservation in isolation would preserve their culture.”
Dr. Price was not alone in his concern and respect for the wisdom, health, and welfare of American Indians. Other 20th-century nutrition-, human-, and planet-health physicians and researchers, whose works are published in our Research Archives Collection, like William A. Albrecht, PhD, documented the loss of regenerative ancestral land management and reminds us that how our food is raised and grown is vitally important to our health.
Earlier this year, we began a comprehensive, first-ever digital conversion initiative to make the 3,000-plus articles in our Research Archives Collection, including Dr. Albrecht’s, available to the public.
We need your help to fund this digital conversion initiative, and other expanding publishing activities, to empower informed, healthy food, and lifestyle decisions.
Today, at a time when our work is more urgent than ever, your support will help to strengthen our 70-year record of pioneering health and nutrition, and our vision to advance universal access to nourishment and healing. Ways to give include:

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and to gather with friends and family, and National Native American Heritage Month reminds us of the gifts from America’s Native Peoples who have taught us so much about human and planet health. Please join with others on Giving Tuesday, November 29th, by making a generous contribution to support the work of Price-Pottenger. Thank you for being an important contributor to our community.
